Distinctive Doorways
Doors have an intriguing and beguiling story to tell us. Some doorways are elaborate,
others commonplace and many are in various stages of disrepair. They are created from
many different materials and showcase a range of stunning colours and textures. Some
of the more interesting doors are in less than perfect condition. They show their age as
the materials weather, the paint fades and peels and the metal rusts. In this one day
class, we will create a small quilt based on a doorway, with the choice of two patterns.
As part of the construction technique, we will outline the main features with a thin dark
line to create a more graphic image. After this class, you will have the skills to create
your own series of doorways, based on your photographs of your travels.

Come and join me on this new amazing journey of Nature-Scapes.
My new found freedom of creating “glimpses” of nature amid an arrangement
of cloth & fibres, incorporating new textures and Art Quilting techniques. You will create little “windows” of joy with images of fabrics that can be found within your stash, master how to embellish them to make them pop!
Learn to make new fabrics with my technique of recreating fabric by chopping your fabrics, mixing and designing them into new surfaces.
Thread painting and embellish with 3D decorations as part of your theme and enhance the finish with stitched patterns across the surfaces.

Sometimes we find little fabric ‘gems’ we put away for another day…..just sometimes
we find the right project to take the scissors to them!

**EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST **
Due to the popularity of Robyn’s class in February, there is a possibility there could be a 2 day workshop in February 2018.
Fabric Mosaics with Robyn Taylor - Creating a Portrait with fabric
Join Robyn as she demonstrates her popular class using an exciting technique. Make a portrait - with fabric! Start with a special photo. It is cropped, scanned and transferred to a numbered fabric grid. Choose your fabrics, and create a project that will draw many 'Wow - you made that!' comments. The process takes you on a journey from photo to work of art. This workshop is based around a computer program developed by Tammie Bowser.
This workshop is limited to 10 students so be quick to register. – 7 spots left.
